About

Cyprien is a research engineer at UC Berkeley, working on a programming model for emerging technologies like GPUs and hardware-accelerated networks. He is interested in systems for machine learning, and worked on a variety of projects, including the multi-GPU and RDMA versions of Caffe and their integration to Spark at Flickr, and early distributed Deep Learning efforts at H2O. He solved distributed state management once and for all working on an air control simulator at NASA, and caused the 2008 crisis by making trading systems too fast at SmartTrade.

Deep Learning with Caffe

Hardware once reserved to HPC systems is entering the datacenter. Cyprien will describe an effort to help developers leverage its new capabilities. Its integration to H2O, along with tools like Caffe, is accelerating and making the platform more powerful.
