Chris Peterson, Vice President, Risk Management. Chris leads the model validation activities across Card (both US and international), Retail and Commercial Bank, COAF and Home Loans and manages the Model Policy, Compliance and testing team.
Chris joined Capital One in 2006 and has worked in a variety of roles in US Card and the Model Risk Office. In US Card, Chris stood up the initial full credit spectrum Foundational Testing program, built the first full credit spectrum risk model (GRM), and led the Acquisitions Valuations team in Decision Sciences. As part of the Model Risk Office he was the Divisional Model Risk Officer for Bank leading the regulatory integration efforts for INGD and stood up the initial efforts with the Anti-Money Laundering program, he then moved over to take on the Card Divisional Model Risk Officer role helping with the integration of HSBC. Prior to joining Capital One, Chris worked at Intel, 3M, and the National Security Agency.
He is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Statistical Science. Chris lives in Richmond with his wife Nichole and their daughters Carlie, Heidi, Ashley and Hailey.
